Innovative tomato nursery Roots Growers uses Priva Operator for remote greenhouse management. Luc van der Knaap, co-owner of the company, shares his experiences about the online application.
Since 2021, Roots Growers has been using Priva Operator; the online application to monitor and manage your greenhouse remotely from any smart device. With Operator, Roots has 24/7 insight into the climate, water and energy, and is also able to make adjustments on the go.
Luc van der Knaap explains: “With a few clicks, you can see what the situation is in your greenhouse, for example on your smartphone. Wherever you are.”
Because you have quicker and easier insight into the situation and processes in the greenhouse, you can also adjust things more quickly.
View, compare, analyze and take action – this can all be done from your dashboard interface. The dashboard can be fully customized to your preferences, making sure you always view relevant data. Roots is a modern tomato nursery specializing in growing Honeytomatoes® in a 26-hectare area. This is a cherry vine tomato of the Piccolo variety, which is characterized by a deliciously fresh, sweet taste. They produce about 7 million kilograms of these special vine tomatoes annually for the premium segment. They do so with the greatest respect for people and the environment.
Roots has been a Priva customer for over 15 years. The company also uses Priva horticultural automation at its three locations with the Priva Connext, Vialux and FS Performance.
