Priva × Nelson Partnership

From setpoint to plant. Wirelessly connected.

17 August 2026

Most growers know the frustration. A carefully planned irrigation strategy that doesn't quite reach the crop the way it was intended. Water and fertilizer applied on schedule rather than on demand. The Priva and Nelson partnership was built to solve exactly that.

The Challenge

Good strategies, unreliable execution.

Most growers have experienced the frustration. An irrigation strategy is carefully planned, schedules are set, and then something goes wrong in the field. A valve sticks. A zone gets too much water while another gets too little. Fertilizer is applied at the wrong moment, when the plant cannot fully use it. By the time the problem shows up in the crop, the damage is done.

Water applied on schedule, not on demand
Fixed irrigation schedules don't respond to what the plant actually needs. Water and fertilizer go in whether the crop is ready for them or not.
No confirmation from the valve
Commands go out but there's no reliable way to know whether each valve opened or closed as intended. Problems go undetected until the crop shows it.
A gap between strategy and what crops receive
When irrigation strategy and field execution aren't connected, growers fill the gap with guesswork. That uncertainty is expensive, and it weighs on every decision.
The Solution

A complete loop, from cloud to crop.

Priva and Nelson have integrated their platforms so that growers manage everything from one place, with the certainty that what they set is what their crops receive.

Climate & Irrigation Intelligence

Wireless Execution

  • Priva Connext: central control platform for water, climate, and all processes
  • Twig-V Hub: manages the radio network, controls up to 100 receivers, connects to Priva via ethernet
  • Priva One: single interface for climate, irrigation, and labour, accessible from anywhere
  • Twig-V (Remote Mount): wires to existing solenoids or relays, controls 1 or 2 devices per unit
  • Priva Scales & Sensors: real-time data on plant water uptake, substrate weight, drain EC and pH
  • Twig-V Plus (On-Valve): integrated solenoid with solar panel and rechargeable battery
  • Priva Fertigation: automated nutrient dosing integrated with irrigation strategy
  • Twig-V SE: pressure switch connection confirms actual valve operation for closed-loop feedback
  • Open platform: integrates with any industry solution, including Nelson Twig-V
  • Twig-V Repeater: extends coverage with sub-networks, up to 8 repeaters per hub

Nelson Twig-V hardware

Field hardware for every installation.

The Twig-V line is built for real agricultural environments: sealed enclosures, Bluetooth setup, fast-response 900 MHz radio, and multiple mounting configurations.

Twig-V Hub
The network controller. Manages up to 100 Twig-V receivers plus 8 repeaters. Connects to Priva via ethernet. Fast-response 900 MHz line-of-sight radio.
Twig-V Remote Mount
Wires to any 12VDC latching solenoid or relay. Controls 1 or 2 devices. Internal or external antenna. Ideal for retrofitting existing valve infrastructure.
Twig-V Plus (On-Valve)
Fully self-contained. Integrated solenoid, solar panel, and rechargeable battery. No wiring, no power source required. Mounts directly on the valve.
Twig-V Repeater
Extends wireless coverage by creating sub-networks. Runs on 110 VAC or 12 VDC with external antenna. Up to 8 repeaters per hub network.
SE (Switch Enabled) Model
Connects to a pressure switch to confirm actual valve operation. Closes the feedback loop so Priva knows the valve opened, not just that the command was sent.
Bluetooth Setup
All Twig-V units configure via Bluetooth for fast, cable-free commissioning. Sealed enclosures protect electronics in field and greenhouse environments.
Where it fits

Built for the way growers operate.

The integrated system works across a wide range of operations, from new builds to existing facilities looking to improve what they already have.

  • Greenhouse Operations

Connect Priva's full climate and irrigation control to wireless valve management across multiple compartments. Everything managed from one place, with confirmation that every zone received what it was supposed to.

  • Open Field & High Tunnel

Cover large and complex growing areas without the constraints of running cable to every valve. The Twig-V Plus solar model requires no power infrastructure at all, making it practical even in remote field locations.

  • Retrofits & Upgrades

Nelson's wireless receivers wire directly to existing solenoids, so growers can bring precision and feedback to their current valve setup without replacing hardware or starting from scratch.

  • Multi-Zone Consistency

Deliver the same irrigation strategy across every zone and know that it landed as intended. Real-time valve confirmation replaces assumption with a verifiable record growers can act on.

The outcome

Less waste. Lower costs. Healthier crops.

When irrigation is driven by plant demand rather than a fixed clock, the difference shows up quickly and keeps compounding over the season.

Give plants exactly what they need

Reduce input costs and labour

  • Irrigation triggered by actual crop demand, using real-time data on water uptake, substrate weight, and climate conditions
  • Meaningful reductions in water and fertilizer spend, accumulated over a full growing season of more precise application
  • Fertilizer applied at the right moment so the plant can fully use it, reducing loss to drainage and runoff
  • A verifiable record of every irrigation event, so growers can see what worked and keep refining their strategy
  • Consistent delivery across every zone, not just the zones a grower happens to check that day
  • Remote monitoring and control frees up labour and lets growers respond to issues before the crop feels them
Growers tell us the same thing over and over. They know their irrigation strategy is sound, but they have no reliable way to know whether it is being carried out the way they intended. That uncertainty is expensive, and it weighs on every decision they make.
