Priva's first Middle East office opens in Dubai

Priva has expanded its global footprint with the opening of the company’s first office in the Middle East in Dubai, UAE.

The move comes as Priva witnesses exceptional growth in demand for its innovative and sustainable horticulture and building automation solutions in the Middle East, as governments and private and public growers intensify their focus on food security and self-sufficiency.

“Through our local presence on the ground, we look forward to working alongside local and regional entrepreneurs, farmers, growers, project developers, investors, and the government to support the development of sustainable business models in and around mega cities to achieve the region’s food security and self-sufficiency goals,” said Meiny Prins, CEO of Priva.

Leading the group’s operations in the Middle East is General Manager Giovanni Angiolini. Commenting on his appointment, Angiolini said: “I am very excited to take up this exciting new role within Priva and to help grow the company’s footprint in the region in what is a very exciting and opportune time. With over 60 years of international expertise in horticulture and building automation, we look forward to becoming a global knowledge partner locally on the ground and to help achieve the region’s indoor growing and horticulture goals.”

Prior to joining Priva, Angiolini supported the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the design and development of the programming for the Food cluster, as part of the Netherlands Pavilion during Expo 2020 Dubai. In addition, he worked with the Netherlands Enterprise Agency, part of the Ministry, and Dutch Greenhouse Delta, an association representing Dutch horticulture, on the development of the strategy for a three-year public-private initiative to position Dutch horticultural companies in the Gulf region. His appointment at Priva has given Angiolini the opportunity to return to the Gulf region where he was previously based for twelve years over the period 2004 -2016.

Expo Dubai 2020

Expo Dubai 2020 was officially opened on October 1. The event marked an important milestone for the Dutch business community in Dubai, in what promises to be a very exciting six months of business events, networking opportunities and international collaborations Priva is proud to be a sponsor of the Netherlands Pavilion and we look forward to a successful presence at Expo 2020 Dubai.
