At the heart of this project is Hans Schepers, CEO of B&S, a recognized expert in sustainable technology integration. Working with installer Pradi and other stakeholders, B&S ensured that all systems were not only functional but deeply aligned with the vision of a future-ready, floating building. 

Priva in Action 

The Drijvend Paviljoen is equipped with Priva Blue ID, an intelligent building management system that controls climate and energy performance. Complementing it is Priva Building Operator, the user-friendly interface that allows remote monitoring and adjustments—critical for a facility sitting on water. 

What makes this installation unique is how it interacts with nature: 

1. It controls the thermal energy exchange system. On the one hand, energy is extracted from the River Maas for heating, and on the other hand, during cooling, heat is extracted from the Floating Pavilion and released into the Maas.   
2. It integrates real-time weather data, including wind force and forecasts, for optimal climate control 
3. It serves as a hands-on learning environment for students studying smart, sustainable technologies 

A Seamless Triangle 

What made the Drijvend Paviljoen project so successful? It was the loyal, open collaboration between three parties: 

1. B&S brought the technical leadership 
2. Pradi is the mastermind behind the installation. The close collaboration and mutual trust between B&S and Pradi were key to achieving an optimal design.   
3. Priva provided the adaptable technology and long-term support
4. Gemeente Rotterdam supported the vision and long-term value of the project 

Inspiring the Next Generation 

Now located on the RDM Campus, the pavilion is more than a building—it’s a source of inspiration for students. It offers hands-on experience with AI in building automation, energy management, and sustainable design. 

This is a key example of how Priva technology not only delivers energy efficiency but also binds talent to forward-looking organisations.
