PIM System: the complete solution 

Do you want a complete picture of what is happening in the root zone? PIM System offers the complete solution. 

The system combines drain measurements, EC and pH data, and substrate slab weighing. This gives you insight into water uptake, substrate water content and drainage. 

PIM Drain: see exactly what drains away 

PIM Drain measures the volume of drain water as soon as it enters the reservoir. You gain real-time insight into drain volume and the EC value. Optional pH measurement is also available. 

With this data, you can assess irrigation in relation to drainage and make more targeted adjustments to your irrigation and fertilization strategy. 

PIM Drain is easy to install, requires little maintenance, and can later be expanded with PIM Groscale. 

Suitable for: crops where accurate drain measurements are important, such as tomatoes, sweet peppers, eggplants, and soft fruit grown in pots. 

PIM Groscale: discover how much water your crop takes up 

PIM Groscale, formerly Priva Groscale, continuously weighs the substrate slab. This gives you insight into the slab’s water content and the crop’s water uptake. 

You can see how the water content changes and respond more quickly when the slab is at risk of drying out. This helps you align irrigation more precisely with your plants’ needs. 

Suitable for: crops grown on substrate slabs, such as tomatoes and cucumbers. 

PIM Interface: the connection to your process computer 

PIM Interface connects PIM Drain and/or PIM Groscale to your Priva Connext or Compact CC process computer. This makes the measurement data directly available for irrigation management. 

From measurement to automatic control 

With Priva PIM, you decide how to use the measurement data. You can adjust irrigation manually or use the appropriate software to have your Priva process computer make adjustments automatically. 

The process computer can respond to changes in the crop’s water requirements, for example, when solar radiation increases. You define the irrigation strategy and maintain visibility of what is happening. 

Greater insight into your crop with Priva One 

With Priva One, drainage data, climate data, and irrigation data are clearly presented in a single dashboard. This gives you insight into key crop data across different locations. 

You can compare measurement data with the targets in your crop plan and monitor changes, even when you are not in the greenhouse yourself. 

This helps you identify deviations earlier and make decisions together with your team based on the same information. 

Priva PIM in practice 

At BraZander, De Ruiter Seeds’ Dutch demonstration center, Priva PIM is used to fine-tune irrigation for tomatoes and cucumbers. 

The value of the measurement data became particularly clear during periods of high evaporation. BraZander was able to respond more effectively to the crop’s water requirements and prevent plants from receiving too little water. PIM also helped the organization use water and fertilizers more efficiently.
