Kikkoman: Energy-efficient climate control for tomato crops

Horticulture | Vegetables | Priva Connext

Kikkoman - 2022

The Japanese company Kikkoman may be famous because of its soy sauce. Now they are also known as co-owner of a high-tech tomato greenhouse: the Kimitsu Tomato Garden.

The main focus of the project was energy efficiency. Together with our long-time partner from Japan, Tomita Technologies Ltd, and VB Group we have managed to ensure optimal energy consumption in the 4.7 ha greenhouse. To provide the perfect automated control performance, all boilers and heat pumps are controlled by the Priva Connext process computer.
