A perfect climate leads to a perfect cut flower
The flower is the most sensitive plant organ, and it is precisely that part which is sold by growers of cut flowers. This requires a great deal of care during cultivation. The greatest challenge for the grower of cut flowers is to keep the conditions as constant as possible. An ornamental crop does not like climate shocks or extreme conditions. This means that quality risks are present at all times.
Priva systems allow growers to go along with the rhythm of the crop as far as possible. The crop will perform best when the lighting level, temperature and air humidity are all perfectly harmonized. The user-friendly set-up graphs in the Priva software makes it easy to set a climate strategy, even if it is very complex. The grower drags the graph to the correct points and the computer calculates the relevant settings. But the grower always remains in charge: based on his/her estimates, he/she can change the settings at any time, which will be automatically reset to the default settings at fixed times, thus ruling out inadvertent errors. This means that fine-tuning is possible at any time, based on the grower’s gut feeling.
The fully integrated horticultural automation offered by Priva means that growers of cut flowers will have all the processes and settings within the company at their fingertips. All the equipment in the greenhouse thus works together to achieve the optimum situation for the crop: air vents, heating, screens, assimilation lighting, CO2 dosage, ventilation, water dosage, misting, cooling. The result? Optimum quality, constant production, minimum consumption of energy and maximum reuse of water.
Flexibility for all needs
There is a lot of variety in ornamental plant cultivation, from chrysanthemums and summer flowers in the soil to roses in a high-tech environment. The Priva controls include common practical situations by default, but there is flexibility for all company-specific needs and for temporary deviations.
The FS Performance management system provides a great deal of insight. It enables growers to view labor performance and to link this with production and quality. This means that growers can base their planning and labor policy on actual figures, which are not open to debate.
Priva devotes a great deal of attention to user-friendliness. Very advanced systems are running in the background, but operating is easy. Growers have an insight into the relevant data at all times and can concentrate on what really matters: producing and selling top-quality products.
