Priva has acquired a minority interest in the smart buildings company bGrid. bGrid provides an intelligent sensor platform that collects data from buildings and provides access to various third-party apps. Priva and bGrid have been working together on projects for some time now and will now be able to strengthen each other even further.

With a minority stake in bGrid, we continue to implement our strategy of innovation and growth. bGrid uses the latest sensor technology and is at the forefront when it comes to data collection and data integration for buildings. Priva is close to the fire because of the minority interest. bGrid will use the new financial strength to further develop the technology and the opportunities to scale up, both in the Netherlands and abroad. In addition, the intensified cooperation will lead to a larger (partner) network and the further sharing of knowledge.

Signing of Priva and Bgrid agreement

Bart Melis, CEO of bGrid: "This is a logical step in our growth strategy. In recent years, we have worked continuously on the development of the most innovative smart buildings technology. Now it is time for the next phase. Priva is a leading player in the field of building management systems; we see new opportunities for a joint proposition, as we do with other parties. A strong partner also makes it possible to scale up more quickly and serve more international customers."

Peter Vandendriessche, VP Strategy & Commerce - Building Automation of Priva: "We offer a digital platform that ensures a comfortable indoor climate in intelligent buildings. Our innovations align seamlessly with the development of the growing number of smart devices. For Priva, the collaboration with bGrid is one of the initiatives with which we can strengthen our position as a provider of digital services for smart buildings, in order to create a better living and working environment for the user of the building in combination with smarter use of energy."
