One (6/6/02) : Netscape 7 Debuts
The last time anyone was interested in Netscape was version 4.x.
Since then, they've brought out 6.0 and just now, 7.0. Should
you care? This is the first of a two-part IMHO that will at least
give you reason to ponder.
Two (8/1/02) : Worldcom and XO
Connectivity Customers out on a Limb?
Having seen a number of large telecom organizations go kaput within
the past year, customers of Worldcom and XO should be considering
alternative suppliers. At the very least, they should be exploring
back-up connectivity such as a precautionary additional line from
another carrier. In either case, there's a lot involved in taking
these precautions; this issue of IMHO lists some of the tasks
necessary. Also: a look at transfering to Priva's hosting
services, a report on the Mozilla 1.0/Netscape 7.0 release party
Priva held in Cleveland, some words about SOAP, and the dangers
of unsecured wireless networks.
Three (8/29/02) : Priva Announces
Praxis Online Retailer Software
Priva has completed programming and validation of its best of
breed software to process online retail transactions. Upon installation,
it lets any organization become e-commerce enabled: retailers
can securely sell their products over the web. It is the first
deliverable in Priva's E-commerce suite, which provides mid-tier
companies all the advanced web capability heretofore affordable
only to the Fortune 500. Also: Jake's findings about usability
testing at Lycos, using webrings (!) to drive traffic to your
site, and an some thoughts about using peer-to-peer software to
fight spam.
